This was the perfect flavor combo for labor day – especially since the strawberry sauce doesn’t have to be the very best in season! The kids loved their mocktail version.

Strawberry Lemonade Cocktail
Ingredients: (serves 4)
~ 6 cups Lemonade
1/2 cup strawberries
2 teaspoons sugar
1/2 lemon
4 oz lemoncello or lemon vodka
ice

Directions:
Chop the strawberries – saving a few for garnish, and sprinkle with sugar and a splash of water and let sit for 30 minutes or overnight.
Blend the macerated strawberries in a blender or food processor. Pour through a mesh strainer, or through a coffee filter. Press down to get all the strawberry juice through without clumps.
Add ice to glasses, pour ~1 cup of lemonade into each with a shot of lemoncello if using and stir. Top with strawberry sauce, which sinks to the bottom!
Garnish with lemon and strawberries!

This was such an easy one to sip. The strawberry sauce feels a bit fussy but is so so worth it. The flavor and sweetness is great with tart lemonade. The kids wanted 2nds with the strawberry sauce and sometimes they’re purists!
